Capacity building for young communicators in North Africa

Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection in Morocco and the Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation (IUCN-Med) have launched the e-learning platform for "Capacity Building of young communication professionals in North Africa ".

In partnership with IUCN-Med, the Mohammed VI Foundation (FM6E) has launched the first training session online for young journalists from North Africa through an e-learning platform.

Modules on climate change, renewable energy and the importance of forest ecosystems will be provided to participants throughout the training. These modules are mainly based on the "Training Kit" of UNESCO, prepared for the media partners regarding education for sustainable development. This cyber-platform will enable young journalist to learn about the experiences of each other, exchange information for better regional benchmarking and be better equipped to understand environmental issues. The project "Capacity building for young communication professionals in North Africa" is a continuation of the outreach already developed by the Foundation Mohammed VI (FM6E). In this sense, FM6E signed in September 2011 an agreement with the Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation (IUCN-Med) for the implementation of this project.
