To mark the launch of the New IUCN North Africa Programme: 2017-2020, we produced informative fact sheets containing the main initiatives, achievements and publications of the North Africa Programme 2013-2016. These fact sheets contain information on the IUCN North Africa Programme 2013-2016. The North Africa programme was first established in 2008 and is coordinated by the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation. In 2016, the Programme had more than 25 member organizations actively involved in the implementation of its long-term initiatives and objectives such as biodiversity conservation, nature-based solutions and capacity building of civil society organisations. The fact sheets provide an overview of the main achievements of the Programme and include the thematic areas of IUCN over the period 2013-2016, a presentation of the Center for Mediterranean Cooperation and the North Africa Program, key figures, the geographical distribution of its members and experts, working topics and publications. In addition, detailed fact sheets for each country (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt and Libya), summarizing the main initiatives, achievements and publications of the North Africa Programme, have also been produced.
