MEDITERRE 2006 - the Mediterranean Parks Fair

For the fourth consecutive year, the Apulian Regional Government, the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Federparchi (the Italian Parks Federation) will be holding MEDITERRE - the Mediterranean Parks Fair. The event will be taking place from the 27th September to the 1st October 2006, at the Fiera del Levante trade fair in Bari.

MEDITERRE is an event dedicated to parks and natural protected areas throughout the Mediterranean. Its aim is to promote the exchange of ideas and common projects between the various bodies involved in running these areas.

A significant proportion of Mediterranean ecoregion landscapes are preserved within protected natural areas, and they are ideal places for fostering new models of sustainable development. It will be in these small strips of land that the battle to create a better future both inside and outside its confines will be won or lost.

MEDITERRE is a great opportunity to share the results we have achieved and to learn from each other’s experiences. It is a place for developing common projects and promoting products and specific measures. It is a place for meeting other people working in the sector and to find out what is happening in the various fields of nature conservation and sustainable development.
