After several days of information and debate between public administrations, NGOs and researchers of 21 countries meeting in Malaga, the Mediterranean Forum of the International Union for Conservation of Nature has presented their conclusions: we urgently need to clarify the importance of biodiversity to society through concrete actions, and IUCN should lead the coordination of efforts for a rational use of available resources and promote intelligent development between the North and South Mediterranean area. As a platform for dialogue and the creation of new projects and initiatives, IUCN-Med is pleased to present you a new site on Internet to interact with us and our networks. We have started sharing with you some of the moments captured by the camera, the words expressed by some of you that attended the Forum, and some videos to remind us all about Mediterranean biodiversity and its importance for our wellbeing. Cooperation between the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation and Spanish and Mediterranean organizations took shape during the evening of 22 November at the official inauguration of the Mediterranean Forum of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature with the signature of several collaboration agreements with Mediterranean public and private institutions. The celebration of the tenth anniversary of the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation and the official opening of the Forum on 22 November welcomed in this occasion more than 200 representatives from public administrations, NGOs, universities and experts in biodiversity and sustainable development in the Mediterranean.
