Criteria

A number of initiatives have developed principles and criteria designed to promote the preservation of biological diversity and maintenance of ecologically-sensitive areas. However, to date no set of principles or criteria has become an accepted Mediterranean standard to identify biodiversity or habitat conservation sites, and none has garnered widespread acceptance across sectors.
